I started at John Kitto in 1998 and I’ve worked in education for 24 years. When John Kitto closed and became All Saints Academy, I continued working in the new school and have loved it ever since. Because I have been on this journey with All Saints since it began, I have seen first hand the progress and developments this school has made. I see each and every day how staff go above and beyond to support one another both personally and professionally, work together and ensure that the school is a happy place that people want to be. I couldn’t imagine working anywhere else. The children are settled, behaviour standards are excellent, and it is a pleasure to work here.

As a cleaning manager and mealtime supervisor, I engage with a variety of people within the school and can see how far we’ve come across many aspects of the school. During break and lunch times, the students interact with me and are polite, cheerful young people. They ask for my help and advice, and I am proud that we have created the atmosphere where they feel able to do this. I love this aspect of my role within the school. Across the school, both staff and students are welcoming and make this school a community that support each other and can thrive, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Ryan Gibbons

Head of Expressive Arts & PE

After completing my degree and securing QTS status at Marjon’s, I taught in London for close to 10 years. However, as a former student of John Kitto the prospect of returning to All Saints was an amazing opportunity to serve and give back to the surrounding community that I was once a part of.
All Saints is on an upward curve of improvement and with children at a local primary school I would have no hesitation applying for them to join the school. Our students are developing daily, becoming more confident and delivering on the mantra of “Work Hard, Be Kind!”
I am privileged as part of my role as Head of Expressive Arts and PE, to be able to support students physical, social and moral development whether in PE or PSHE lessons, through extra-curricular clubs or sporting opportunities.
The school and Ted Wragg Trust has given me the opportunity for me to develop professionally, by providing or funding high quality courses and meeting experienced leaders both inside and outside of the Trust. I have also led on the PE Subject network, where resources are shared to cutdown on workload and improve fantastic outcomes for our schools across Devon.

Kirstie Gibling

Trainee Teacher of English

After completing my degree in English, I worked as an English Language Assistant at a school in Germany, where I realised how much I enjoyed working in a school environment. I joined All Saints Academy in May 2022 as a School Led Tutor. From the moment I stepped foot in the school I have never felt more welcomed or more valued as a member of staff, and it was the warm and caring environment that the school fosters which made me want to be part of the All Saints community. Before the end of the summer term when my contract was due to end, I was offered the opportunity to enrol on an ITT course with SWITT and complete my English teacher training at All Saints.

Since starting my training, the school and the trust have been incredibly supportive of my personal and professional development with weekly whole school CPD and additional weekly training sessions with all of the trainee teachers. I have also had weekly observations and feedback sessions, as well scheduled planning time with my mentor to plan and practice lessons. This support has been truly invaluable to me. Every day I come to work I feel incredibly lucky to be part of a school, and a trust that genuinely cares about their staff and students.
