Attendance & Absences
Attendance
We actively promote and encourage 100% attendance for all students. We recognise that some students need further support to achieve 96+% attendance and we have a range of support in place for this, including our Attendance team, Pastoral staff and our Attendance Engagement Officer.
Reporting your child as absent on a daily basis
We require parents/carers to contact the school on each and every day of absence. You can do this:
By phone: Please call the school on 01752 705131 and press Option 1, by 8.00am. Please state your child’s full name, year group and reason for absence.
By email: [email protected] - you will receive an automatic reply and we will contact you if we need to.
If we are not notified by you, you may receive a text, phone call or home visit from us, to help ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students.
Reporting a future absence:
If your child has a medical appointment or other special circumstance for absence, then please call and speak to our Attendance Officer, Mrs Dixon, on: 01752 705131, press Opt 1, or email: [email protected].
If you would like to request time off in exceptional circumstances, for an organised activity or holiday, then please complete a Plymouth City Council absence request form. Attendance at school is paramount and requests will only be granted in exceptional circumstances. If leave is not permitted, a penalty notice may be issued by Plymouth City Council, you can find further information on their website here, including their Penalty Notice Code of Conduct
